Kürzer kann der Weg zu frischen Zutaten kaum sein: Das Restaurant KMH ist in der Kleinmarkthalle zu Hause, dort, wo vormals das Traditionsgeschäft „Fahrrad Thöt“ über 100 Jahre lang Kunden begrüßte. Was hier auf der Karte steht, wird aus dem zubereitet, was die Stände nebenan verkaufen. So kommt der Käse von Käse Thomas, der Aufschnitt vom Feinkosthandel Alasti und das Kalbsfleisch von der Metzgerei Kalbskopp. Traditionelle Gerichte erhalten hier einen modernen, raffinierten Twist und abgesehen vom guten und sehr gekonnt angerichteten Essen lohnt auch schon das großzügig-lässige Ambiente den Besuch. Das KMH zieht sich über drei Etagen, Herzstück ist das Bistro im Erdgeschoss. Im Studio in der ersten Etage stehen zwei ochsenblutrote Küchenblocks, an denen das KMH Kochkurse oder Kitchen-Parties veranstaltet. Gemütlich und außergewöhnlich ist die „Werkstatt“ in den Räumen einer alten Fahrradwerkstatt aus den 1950er Jahren. Bis zu zehn Gäste finden hier Platz und das Essen kommt in Schalen auf den Tisch – zum Teilen unter Freund*innen.

The path to fresh ingredients could hardly be shorter: The KMH restaurant is at home in the Kleinmarkthalle, where the traditional shop "Fahrrad Thöt" used to welcome customers for over 100 years. What's on the menu here is prepared from what the stalls next door sell. The cheese comes from Käse Thomas, the cold cuts from the Alasti delicatessen and the veal from the Kalbskopp butcher's shop. Traditional dishes are given a modern, sophisticated twist here and, apart from the good and very skilfully prepared food, the spacious, casual ambience alone makes a visit worthwhile. The KMH is spread over three floors, the centrepiece being the bistro on the ground floor. In the studio on the first floor there are two oxblood red kitchen blocks where the KMH organises cookery courses or kitchen parties. The "Werkstatt" is cosy and unusual in the rooms of an old bicycle workshop from the 1950s. Up to ten guests can be seated here and the food is served in bowls - to be shared between friends.
