Manchmal stimmt einfach alles: die Kulinarik, die Optik und ja, auch die Akustik. Das gleichmäßige Rauschen und Plätschern der Kinzig versetzt dich direkt in einen Entspannungsmodus. Vor allem, wenn du draußen auf dem großzügigen Balkon über dem Fluss sitzt und den Blick ins Grüne genießt. Dazu wird dir auf rot-weiß karierten Tischdecken Kaffee und selbstgebackener Kuchen serviert (die Stachelbeer-Baiser-Torte ist ein Gedicht!) – oder das liebevoll auf Etageren und in Weckgläschen angerichtete Frühstück. Historisches Industrie-Ambiente gibt’s gratis dazu: Ein Mühlrad über der Theke erinnert daran, dass das denkmalgeschützte Natursteingebäude ursprünglich eine Mühle war, die den Hanauer Bürger*innen ab dem 16. Jahrhundert als „Kraft- und Kornkammer“ diente. Heute ist es vor allem eins: ein echter Wohlfühlort.

Sometimes everything is just right: the cuisine, the visuals and yes, even the acoustics. The steady murmur and splashing of the Kinzig puts you straight into relaxation mode. Especially when you sit outside on the spacious balcony overlooking the river and enjoy the view of the greenery. Coffee and homemade cake (the gooseberry and meringue tart is to die for!) are served on red and white checked tablecloths - or breakfast is lovingly arranged on tiered trays and in jars. The historic industrial ambience comes free of charge: A mill wheel above the counter is a reminder that the listed stone building was originally a mill that served as a "powerhouse and granary" for the citizens of Hanau from the 16th century onwards. Today, it is one thing above all: a real feel-good place.
