About: Rowing jetty on Mainwasenweg, Rudersteg am Mainwasenweg

Hier kannst du deine SUP-Tour auf dem Main starten, im Grünen essen – und nebenbei sogar noch zum Denkmal werden!  Ab aufs Wasser: Vom Rudersteg am Maiwasenweg gibt’s gleich mehrere Möglichkeiten, den Main zu erobern. Verschiedene Ruder- und Kanu-Vereine haben hier ihre Bootshäuser; außerdem kannst du hier SUP-Boards leihen – und inzwischen sogar Waterbikes auf zwei aufblasbaren Kufen. Egal wie: Die knapp drei Kilometer lange Tour von hier flussabwärts Richtung Frankfurter Zentrum ist die urbanste und schillerndste Main-Etappe überhaupt. Mehr Mainhattan-Feeling geht nicht als hier, wo sich die Wolkenkratzer im Wasser spiegeln. Wer hungrig wird, findet rings um den Rudersteg verschiedene Biergärten und Restaurants: darunter auch die alteingesessene Gerbermühle, in die es schon Goethe immer wieder zog. Auf dem kurzen Fußweg dorthin kannst du übrigens selbst zum Denkmal werden: Hans Traxler, Mit-Gründer des Satiremagazins Titanic und damit einer der wichtigsten Vertreter der Neuen Frankfurter Schule, hat dort sein "Ich-Denkmal" mit leerem Sockel aufgestellt. Platz nehmen und sich einmal ganz wichtig fühlen, ist ausdrücklich erwünscht!

You can start your SUP tour on the Main here, eat in the greenery – and even become a monument! At the water: there are several ways to conquer the Main from the rowing jetty on Maiwasenweg. Various rowing and canoeing clubs have their boathouses here; you can also hire SUP boards – and now even water bikes on two inflatable runners. Either way: The almost three-kilometre tour from here downstream towards the center of Frankfurt is the most urban and dazzling Main stage of all. You can't get a more Mainhattan feeling than here, where the skyscrapers are reflected in the water. Those who get hungry will find various beer gardens and restaurants around the rowing pier, including the long-established Gerbermühle, where Goethe used to go time and again. Incidentally, you can become a monument yourself on the short walk there: Hans Traxler, co-founder of the satirical magazine Titanic and thus one of the most important representatives of the New Frankfurt School, has erected his "I-Monument" with an empty pedestal there. Taking a seat and feeling very important for once is expressly encouraged;
