Das neobarocke Büsingpalais ist mehr als ein repräsentativer Bau, es ist auch eine Art „gute Stube“ der Stadt.
Unzählige Offenbacher Familien haben hier Hochzeiten gefeiert, sommerliche Konzerte besucht oder in der Stadtbibliothek, die im nördlichen Seitenflügel untergebracht ist, geschmökert. Das zwischen Büsing- und Lilipark gelegene Bauwerk wurde in der zweiten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts von wohlhabenden Schnupftabak-Fabrikanten als Herrenhaus mit Landschaftsgarten errichtet, in dem auch der Dichter Johann Wolfgang von Goethe als junger Mann verkehrte. Später wurde es als Rathaus der Stadt genutzt, bis es im Zweiten Weltkrieg durch einen Luftangriff bis auf die Außenmauern zerstört wurde. Wie ein Mahnmal erinnerte die Ruine jahrzehntelang an die Schrecken des Krieges, bevor es nach und nach wiederaufgebaut und 1984 endgültig wiedereröffnet wurde.
Heute dient es als Trausaal des städtischen Standesamtes und Veranstaltungszentrum des benachbarten Sheraton Offenbach Hotels. Allerdings ist das Haupthaus zurzeit aufgrund von Brandschutzsanierungen geschlossen. Im Südflügel ist das Klingspor Museum untergebracht, das sich internationaler Buch- und Schriftkunst widmet, im Nordflügel befindet sich die Stadtbibliothek.

The neo-baroque Büsingpalais is more than just a prestigious building, it is also a kind of "parlor" for the city.
Countless Offenbach families have celebrated weddings here, attended summer concerts or browsed in the city library, which is housed in the northern side wing. Located between Büsing Park and Lilipark, the building was built in the second half of the 18th century by wealthy snuff manufacturers as a manor house with a landscaped garden, where the poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe also frequented as a young man. It was later used as the town hall until it was destroyed down to its outer walls in an air raid during the Second World War. Like a memorial, the ruins served as a reminder of the horrors of war for decades before it was gradually rebuilt and finally reopened in 1984.
Today, it serves as a wedding hall for the municipal registry office and event center for the neighboring Sheraton Offenbach Hotel. However, the main building is currently closed due to fire safety renovations. The south wing houses the Klingspor Museum, which is dedicated to international book and literary art, while the north wing is home to the city library.
