Der Buchdruck hat die Welt im Mittelalter revolutioniert – und gerade in Zeiten der Digitalisierung noch immer eine besondere Faszination. Es gibt kaum einen Ort, an dem man das besser spüren kann als in der Druckwerkstatt im Offenbacher Bernardbau. Pressen, Walzen, Lettern und vieles andere können hier unter Anleitung genutzt werden – vom Siebdruck über Radierungen bis zum Linoldruck ist alles möglich. Dass es so eine Werkstatt ausgerechnet in Offenbach gibt, hat seinen Grund: Drucktechnik und Gestaltung haben in der Stadt eine lange Tradition. Hier arbeitete etwa Alois Senefelder, Erfinder der Lithografie, der um 1800 die Noten aus Mozarts Nachlass vervielfältigte. Außerdem war mit dem Unternehmen der Brüder Klingspor eine der wichtigsten Schriftgießereien Deutschlands in Offenbach zu Hause. Das Klingspor-Museum ist auch einer der Träger der Druckwerkstatt, die durch ihr kluges und abwechslungsreiches Programm eine wachsende Fangemeinde hat. Vom Buchbinden übers Schriftsetzen bis zur Familienwerkstatt: In vielen Workshops lässt sich hier die volle Bandbreite der Buch- und Schriftkunst kreativ erleben.

Presses, rollers, letters and much more can be used here under supervision - from screen printing and etchings to lino printing, everything is possible. There is a reason why there is such a workshop in Offenbach of all places: printing technology and design have a long tradition in the city. Alois Senefelder, the inventor of lithography, who reproduced the sheet music from Mozart's estate around 1800, worked here. Offenbach was also home to the Klingspor brothers' company, one of the most important type foundries in Germany. The Klingspor Museum is also one of the sponsors of the printing workshop, which has a growing fan base thanks to its clever and varied program.
