About: Waggon am Kulturgleis

Es war einmal ein ausrangierter Bahnwaggon am Mainufer, den eine Gruppe Studierende frei nach Joseph Beuys zur „Sozialen Plastik“ umgestalten wollte. Was märchenhaft und kunsttheoretisch klingt, hat sich ganz real zu einer der spannendsten Musik-Locations in Offenbach entwickelt. Im Waggon am Kulturgleis, der seinen Platz am Main auf der Höhe von Schloss Isenburg hat, gibt’s von März bis Dezember fast jedes Wochenende Musik – getragen vom Verein Soziale Plastik. Von House und Funk über Electro-Rock bis zu Akustik Jam Sessions reicht das Programm. Die Bühne ist klein – höchstens 40 Menschen passen in den Innenraum – aber begehrt: Weil so viele hier spielen möchten, bietet der Waggon am Kulturgleis auch eine Open Stage, auf der jede und jeder für 20 Minuten den großen Auftritt haben kann.

Once upon a time, there was a discarded train carriage on the banks of the Main that a group of students wanted to transform into a "social sculpture" in the style of Joseph Beuys. What sounds fabulous and art-theoretical has actually developed into one of the most exciting music venues in Offenbach. From March to December, the Waggon am Kulturgleis, which is located on the River Main near Isenburg Castle, hosts music almost every weekend - organized by the Soziale Plastik association. The program ranges from house and funk to electro rock and acoustic jam sessions. The stage is small - no more than 40 people can fit inside - but it's popular: because so many people want to play here, the Waggon am Kulturgleis also has an open stage where anyone can perform for 20 minutes.
