Der Name klingt nach Schweizer Bergdorf, und tatsächlich liegt dieser Ort auch im Grünen – das aber mitten in der Großstadt Frankfurt. Im Bürgergarten beim Eschenheimer Tor betreibt das Künstlerkollektiv saasfee* den gleichnamigen Pavillon. Die Gründer*innen Moni Friebe, Alex Oppermann und Al Dhanab verstehen ihren Pavillon als Plattform für Kunst, Design, Medien und elektronische Musik. Das Programm: experimentell und bunt gemischt. Die Kreativen, die hier zu sehen und zu hören sind, kommen aus dem Rhein-Main-Gebiet und der ganzen Welt.
Gelungener Ableger ist der saasfee*-Satellit gleich nebenan; ein kleiner zusätzlicher Ausstellungsraum, in dem die Theke des Cafés ihren Platz hat – und ihn damit auch fast schon füllt. Kaffee und Kuchen genießt du dort an Wochenenden draußen auf der Terrasse, oft auch mit Musik: Von Mai bis Oktober finden hier die soundpark Sessions mit Musiker*innen und DJs aus der Umgebung statt, ab Herbst wird innen gespielt – immer freitags bei den „tiny bar sessions“.

The name sounds like a Swiss mountain village, and this place is indeed located in the countryside - but in the middle of the city of Frankfurt. The artist collective saasfee* runs the pavilion of the same name in the Bürgergarten near Eschenheimer Tor. The founders Moni Friebe, Alex Oppermann and Al Dhanab see their pavilion as a platform for art, design, media and electronic music. The program: experimental and colourful. The creative people who can be seen and heard here come from the Rhine-Main region and all over the world.
The saasfee* satellite right next door is a successful offshoot; a small additional exhibition space in which the café's counter has its place - and almost fills it. At weekends, you can enjoy coffee and cake outside on the terrace, often with music: from May to October, the soundpark sessions with local musicians and DJs take place here, and from fall onwards, the music is played inside - always on Fridays at the "tiny bar sessions".
