An 17 Stationen erfährst Du auf dem landschaftlich sehr schönen Rundweg viel Wissenswertes über den Taunus und die Funktion und Bedeutung des Waldes in früherer und heutiger Zeit. Dabei führt der Lehrpfad vom Römerkastell Saalburg zum Freilichtmuseum Hessenpark und wieder zurück. Beides sind museale Einrichtungen von großer kultureller Bedeutung. Besonderer Höhepunkt auf dem Weg ist ein restauriertes bzw. wiederhergestelltes Stück Limes. In zwei Schutzhütten kannst Du ausgiebig pausieren. Der Einstieg in den Pfad ist nicht nur bei Station 1 am Parkplatz „Saalburg“ möglich, sondern auch am Parkplatz „Hessenpark“ bei Station 10. Hier kreuzen jeweils weitere interessante Wanderwege. An der Saalburg zum Beispiel der Limeserlebnispfad, der Schinderhannespfad oder auch der Taunushöhenweg.
