In nature, it is impressively demonstrated when a tadpole becomes a frog or an insect transforms itself completely through several stages. Metamorphosis represents growth, development, and the surprising power of change. It also unfolds its effect in art and literature: In the "Metamorphoses" of the Roman poet Ovid, people and gods transform into animals, plants, or natural phenomena – out of love, fear, power, or as a new beginning. Metamorphose steht für Wachstum, Entwicklung und die überraschende Kraft des Wandels. Auch in Kunst und Literatur entfaltet sie ihre Wirkung: In den „Metamorphosen“ des römischen Dichters Ovid verwandeln sich Menschen und Götter in Tiere, Pflanzen oder Naturerscheinungen – aus Liebe, aus Angst, aus Macht oder als Neuanfang.
