In diesem Museum erwarten euch zahlreiche historische Zeugnisse aus mehr als 180 Jahren Sparkassen-Geschichte in Eschwege. Die Ausstellung zeigt, wie sich das Institut im Laufe der Zeit verändert hat und was seine Entwicklung maßgeblich prägte. Ein großformatiger Zeitstrahl, der sich entlang einer Wand des Museums erstreckt, führt euch von der Gründung im Jahr 1844 bis in die Gegenwart. Unterwegs zeigen euch Bilder und kurze Texte die wichtigsten Stationen in der Geschichte unserer Sparkasse. Einen entscheidenden Teil stellt dabei auch ihre Rolle während der NS-Zeit dar. Diese Epoche ließ die Sparkasse Werra-Meißner als eines der ersten Institute ihrer Art wissenschaftlich fundiert und systematisch aufarbeiten. Außerdem wurden in dieser kleinen, aber absolut besonderen Ausstellung zahlreiche originale Gegenstände zusammengetragen, die euch einen Einblick in die Geschichte des Instituts, der Region und auch in die Entwicklung von Finanz- und Verwaltungstechniken geben. Hierzu zählen z.B. mechanische Schreib- und Rechenmaschinen, historische Spardosen und andere Dokumente, die den Wandel im Alltag der Sparkasse sichtbar machen.
In this museum, you can expect numerous historical artifacts from more than 180 years of Sparkasse history in Eschwege. The exhibition shows how the institution has changed over time and what has significantly shaped its development. A large-format timeline, extending along a wall of the museum, guides you from the founding in 1844 to the present day. Along the way, images and short texts highlight the most important milestones in the history of our Sparkasse. A crucial part also includes its role during the Nazi era. This period led the Sparkasse Werra-Meißner to be one of the first institutions of its kind to be scientifically and systematically documented. Furthermore, this small but absolutely special exhibition has gathered numerous original items that give you an insight into the history of the institution, the region, and also the development of financial and administrative techniques. This includes, for example, mechanical typewriters and calculators, historical savings banks, and other documents that make the changes in the daily life of the Sparkasse visible.
