The event offers young and experienced singers a platform to showcase their talent before a professional jury and to recommend themselves for further artistic opportunities. The musical direction is in the hands of Kassandra Dimopoulou, who artistically oversees and accompanies the selection process. As a special award, the winner will receive a cash prize. Furthermore, individual participants have the chance to be involved in an ambitious artistic project: the “Acht Emser Stücken”. Zum dritten Mal findet das Vorsingen der Kandidatinnen und Kandidaten für den „Grand Prix Jacques Offenbach“ statt. Die Veranstaltung bietet jungen und erfahrenen Sängerinnen und Sängern eine Plattform, ihr Können vor einer Fachjury zu präsentieren und sich für weitere künstlerische Perspektiven zu empfehlen. Die musikalische Leitung liegt in den Händen von Kassandra Dimopoulou, die das Auswahlverfahren künstlerisch betreut und begleitet. Als besondere Auszeichnung winkt der Siegerin bzw. dem Sieger ein Geldpreis. Darüber hinaus eröffnet sich für einzelne Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer die Chance auf eine Mitwirkung in einem ambitionierten künstlerischen Projekt: den „Acht Emser Stücken“.
