The interior is soothingly bright, with restrained colours and harmonious shapes and lines. The only decoration in the nave is a banner of biblical verses with closely set Gothic characters; the banner runs around the lower beams of the entire gallery. From the main entrance, your gaze is drawn through the nave to the large crucifix, which stands between the altar and the choir windows. It dates from around 1600 and shows the crucified Christ with the expression ‘It is finished’.
