Since the beginning of 2003, the Jewish community of Marburg has had a new home in Liebigstraße in Marburg's southern neighbourhood. Today, the synagogue and cultural centre of the Jewish community provide enough space for community life and for the diverse cultural offerings of the community. After all, Judaism is not just a religion, but one of the oldest cultures in the world. And the new community centre is also intended as a place of encounter and togetherness to help communicate more about it. Barrier-free access to the building is also possible with the help of a lift at the rear of the building.
Seit Anfang 2003 hat die Jüdische Gemeinde Marburg ein neues Zuhause in der Liebigstraße im Marburger Südviertel bekommen. Heute gibt es in Synagoge und Kulturzentrum der Jüdischen Gemeinde genug Platz für das Gemeindeleben und für das vielfältige kulturelle Angebot der Gemeinde. Denn Judentum ist schließlich nicht nur eine Religion, sondern eine der ältesten Kulturen der Welt. Und das neue Gemeindehaus soll auch als Stätte der Begegnung und des Miteinanders dazu beitragen, mehr darüber zu vermitteln. Auch ist der barrierefreien Zugang zum Gebäude mit Hilfe eines Aufzugs an der Gebäuderückseite möglich.
