Festival "Strings and Spheres" Day 1 6 p.m.: Introductory lecture by musicologist Prof. Dr. Michael Braun (Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel) on Bartók and Bach  7 p.m.: Sergey Malov Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750): Toccata and Fugue in D minor BWV 565, version for solo violin Béla Bartók (1881–1945): Sonata for Solo Violin Sz 117 Béla Bartók: Unisono from Mikrokosmos, transcribed for Solo Cello Johann Sebastian Bach: Suite for Cello No. 6 in D Major BWV 1012 Sergey Malov, who hails from St. Petersburg, plays violin, baroque violin, viola, and violoncello da spalla – the instrument on which Bach likely performed his cello suites himself – as well as clavichord. He has won awards on the violin at the Paganini Competition in Genoa, the Mozart Competition in Salzburg, the Heifetz Competition in Vilnius, and the Michael Hill Competition in Auckland. As a violist, he was a prizewinner of the ARD Competition and the Tokyo Viola Competition. With stylistic depth and captivating stage presence, Sergey Malov delights every audience. Auf der Violine gewann er Preise beim Paganini Wettbewerb in Genua, beim Mozart Wettbewerb in Salzburg, beim Heifetz Wettbewerb in Vilnius und beim Michael Hill Wettbewerb in Auckland. Mit der Bratsche war er Preisträger des ARD Wettbewerbs sowie der Tokyo Viola Competition. Mit stilistischer Tiefe und mitreißender Bühnenpräsenz begeistert Sergey Malov jedes Publikum.
