Die Carlshütte, Baujahr 1844, ist die letzte Eisenhütte im oberen Lahntal und ein Denkmal der Frühindustrialisierung. Zukünftig ist hier ein Energie-Technik-Erlebniszentrum, kurz „Energetikum“, geplant. Es soll das vielfältige Thema Energie veranschaulichen und praktisch erlebbar machen. Das Energetikum wird als Mitmach-Museum konzipiert und Energie- und Klimaschutzthemen werden für Schulen, Firmen und Privatleute auf attraktive Art und Weise zugänglich gemacht. Eine Innenbesichtigung ist derzeit nicht möglich.
The Carlshütte, built in 1844, is the last ironworks in the upper Lahn Valley and a monument to early industrialisation. An energy technology experience centre, or ‘Energetikum’ for short, is planned for the future. It will illustrate the diverse topic of energy and make it a practical experience. The Energetikum will be designed as a hands-on museum and energy and climate protection topics will be made accessible to schools, companies and private individuals in an attractive way. It is currently not possible to visit the interior.
