Radfahren rund um Runkel Runkel ist eine beliebte Station für Radfahrer auf dem Lahn-Radwanderweg und dem Radfernweg R7, die durch die historische Altstadt führen. Besonders reizvoll ist der Rad- und Wanderweg Kerkerbachtal: Das idyllische, waldreiche Seitental der Lahn verbindet die Lahn mit dem Westerwald und war noch vor wenigen Jahrzehnten von Dampflokomotiven befahren. Heute bietet die rund 30 km lange Strecke der ehemaligen Kerkerbachbahn von Runkel nach Mengerskirchen ein herrliches Rad- und Wandererlebnis. Auf dem Campingplatz in Runkel können Fahrräder ausgeliehen werden. Neu im Angebot der Tourist-Info Runkel sind E-Bikes: Gegen Vorlage des Personalausweises und einer Kaution von 100 €, die bei Rückgabe erstattet wird, können 26- oder 28-Zoll E-Bikes für 23 € pro Tag gemietet werden. Cycling around Runkel Runkel is a popular stop for cyclists on the Lahn Cycle Path and the long-distance cycle route R7, which pass through the historic old town. Particularly attractive is the cycling and hiking trail Kerkerbachtal: The idyllic, forested side valley of the Lahn connects the Lahn with the Westerwald and was served by steam locomotives just a few decades ago. Today, the approximately 30 km long route of the former Kerkerbach railway from Runkel to Mengerskirchen offers a wonderful cycling and hiking experience. Bicycles can be rented at the campsite in Runkel.
