Seit 25 Jahren arbeitet Chris Schmetz unter dem Label behind-de-scenes an der Schnittstelle von Fotografie, Grafik und Text. In diesem Frühjahr feiert der Marburger Gestalter sein künstlerisches Jubiläum mit einer großen Ausstellung im Erwin-Piscator-Haus. Am 20. März 2026 um 19:00 Uhr wird im Erwin-Piscator-Haus die Ausstellung „Licht.Linien.Lebensspuren“ eröffnet. Gezeigt werden Arbeiten aus 25 Jahren kreativen Schaffens – grafische Werke ebenso wie inszenierte und dokumentarische Fotografien. Die architektonischen Gegebenheiten des Hauses ermöglichen eine vielschichtige Präsentation, die frühe und aktuelle Arbeiten in Beziehung setzt. Besonders glücklich ist Schmetz, dass auch einige langjährige Wegbegleiter ihren Platz gefunden haben. „Der Teetrinker, das Rentier und die Straßenszenen in Paris begleiten mich schon lange. Sie stehen für das Spannungsfeld zwischen Zufall und Planung“, berichtet er. „Dieser Zwischenraum ist für mich einer der produktivsten Orte.“ Vernissage: 20. For 25 years, Chris Schmetz has been working under the label behind-de-scenes at the intersection of photography, graphics, and text. This spring, the designer from Marburg will celebrate his artistic anniversary with a major exhibition at the Erwin Piscator House. On March 20, 2026, at 7:00 PM, the exhibition “Light.Lines.Life Traces” will be opened at the Erwin Piscator House. Works from 25 years of creative production will be showcased – graphic works as well as staged and documentary photographs. The architectural conditions of the house allow for a multifaceted presentation that relates early and current works to each other. Schmetz is particularly pleased that some long-time companions have also found their place. “The tea drinker, the reindeer, and the street scenes in Paris have accompanied me for a long time.
